Our New Year Poll; And Some Things I've Learned in 2008

This month's poll asks the burning question: New Year's Resolutions -- do you or don't you (make them, that is)? Do you simply hate change? Click on “Another answer...” and you can also supply your own. The poll’s right in the sidebar on the main blog page. Inquiring minds want to know.

As I looked back, taking stock of the year 2008, here are some things I learned:

1. Cardboard boxes have not lost their allure.

2. Life isn't as glamourous as I'd once envisioned. (This realization came as I was in the midst of dismantling a jacuzzi frame with the claw end of a hammer.)

3. Sometimes when Husband says everything's "fine," it really is and it's not his attempt to flee from me.

4. Hens are different than roosters.

5. Shopping on December 24th isn't as bad as they say.

6. I now know what a blog is.

7. Husband loves me no matter what color I dye my hair.

8. A $10 blow dryer still works after being submerged in the toilet.

9. Google search rankings remain a mystery.

10. A lot of people want to know how to make tater tot casserole.

And, lastly,

11. If a blog falls over in the forest, it still makes a sound, it's just that nobody's reading it.

Best wishes to all of you in the new year. Thank you to those who've taken the time to post on my blog. (Something good will happen to you in the next seven days.)
